Busy Busy Bees!

Well once again I've left it too long in writing another blog. Oh well. We have been very busy again since my last blog. I will try and sum up what we have been up to.

We have been fishing down the creek at his parents place. Where unfortunately I didnt catch anything but wade and his dad both caught 2 fish each. I was kind of hoping we were going to have fresh fish for dinner, but sadly the fish were too small to eat. But the afternoon was fun anyway.

Last weekend we went to Rocky to catch up with wades friends and do some shopping. We were going to be going camping but there were some large thunderstorms so we decided against it and just stayed at his friends house. More my type of camping! The weekend was great fun.
We had a few drinks and played 'beer pong', a game that involves trying to throw balls into your opponents 10 cups from the other end of a long table. If you get the ball in their cup they have to drink it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching, because as the game goes on the shots get worse and worse. Highly entertaining.
We also went out water skiing on the Fitzroy river. Well again wade did, I sat in the boat and watched. Much better view for spotting crocs. As yes there has been large crocodiles in the river. And most people who know me are aware that I dont go in water as Im scared of fish. But wade and his friends had great fun knee boarding.

Wade has officially started work now. Well sort of! On Tuesday last week, we had prepared ourselves for not seeing each other for a week and said our (tearful on my part) goodbyes, and off he went to Rolleston, which is 3 1/2 hours away. However as soon as he got there he received a call from his boss who said actually mate you dont start till next week now. As you can imagine neither of us were particularly impressed. So he ended up coming home that night. However the boss did find him some work in the workshop in Gladstone for a few days so he went up there instead. Which means he has to go out to rolleston again tomorrow. Im not particularly happy about all this, as I had just come to terms with not seeing him for a week by telling myself we would get to spend all next week together. That is no longer happening now. I didnt get to see him much last week and now I wont get to see him at all this week. However on the plus side, I sleep 10 times better without him in the bed, getting a good night sleep without his elephant arm around me.

Lastly, as requested by Fee. Photos of our house.

Settling in....

I have come to the conclusion now that i have started to settle down at bit over here. We are in our new house, the weather has started to cheer up and I'm having to do the usual household routines of cleaning and laundry. There are just a few differences between living in Reigate. Instead of waking up and looking out our apartment window and seeing the cars drive past and people walking along the paths. I have woken up to find bulls, cows and calves along our fence line. It is a beautiful site to see. At six o'clock yesterday morning when I went outside to feed our rather noisy puppies for 6 in the morning, I looked over to see a newborn calf just learning to stand up for the first time.
I realise the pic is not the best but I was not able to get too close or they would have run away. This little thing was so cute and so small. As well as discoving this beautiful little thing I also discovered my new flip flop was no longer so new, instead rather chewed, despite having put it inside out of the way. Clearly Dodge and Im pretty sure mostly Dolly had other ideas in mind for my shoe. Now ordinarily it wouldnt have greatly bothered me, I would have just gone out and bought a new pair. But as I am now living in the middle of no where, where there isnt a handy accessorize in town, I had to make do with 'fixing it'. I trimmed off all the loose wicker bits and then used the only glue I could find, a good old pritt stick, to glue the rest of the bits down. I have to admit it did work, but now each time I wear them my left foot feels a little sticky. However in finding this chewed shoe, it made me feel less guilty about taking them to the vet to have their needles. They were rather reluctant to go into the vet at first but seemed to be fine pretty soon. Dolly did not flinch one little bit which was good, but dodge did. However I can understand why he did. the vet picked up the loose bit of skin at the back of the neck to put the needle in, but instead of just putting it in she put it right the way through. Meaning that when she squeezed the syringe the vaccine squirted straight back out the other side of his skin. Poor little thing. This then meant he had to have another one. I was not particularly impressed. She of course blamed it on the fact that he moved. I beg to differ......

Car, house, wedding, and puppies.

Hello everyone. Sorry I have been rather slack with the posts. It's been a very busy couple of weeks here. Firstly wades sisters wedding was wonderful. She looked beautiful and the service was lovely. Pictures will be posted shortly.
Since coming back from canberra we have bought a car and moved into our own little place.
We flew back up to Brisbane on Monday last week and went car shopping straight away. Our new car is a dark blue Holden frontera. A small 4 wheel drive perfect for where we are living. While buying the car, we spotted a few coincidences on the paper work. Firstly the car originally came from the area we are living, second it was serviced in our small town Biloela, and third the lady who was the advisor at the garage was called Hannah Pearce. We took them for a sign to buy the car. We then drove back up to bilo, via Gladstone so we could get some shopping done for our new house. That is when the next strange thing happened. While loading up the car with everything for the house minus the kitchen sink, (the house already had one), the lady who previously owned the car came up and started talking to me. How weird!
Anyway the next day went to rocky to buy the rest of the things we couldn't fit in the car like sofas, furniture and a washing machine. Then Thursday and Friday we moved into our new little house. The house is nice and reasonably comfortable. It has 2 bedrooms a fairly large lounge which joins onto the kitchen. However there are 2 small downsides, there are no fly screens which means lots of bugs, and the toilet is outside, which I am not a fan of. I have already had my first frog incident involving the toilet, which has made me terrified to go and pee now.
For those of you curious about the puppies. They have grown lots and doing very well in their new home too. They went for their first little walk yesterday. We think they enjoyed the walking part but are pretty sure they didn't like the car journey. Our 2 puppies get very car sick sitting in the boot. We also thought they were doing very well with their toilet training too. As they have had no accidents any nights when in the laundry. However while typing this I have been to check on them and have found 2 large piles and a puddle in the middle of the floor. I'm not impressed.
So that is probably enough typing for me, as I have got to clean up their delightful mess.
